800 children take part in qualifying test for the Kids and Adolescents Programming Marathon 2021

800 children from different Syrian provinces on Saturday participated in the qualifying test for the Kids and Adolescents Programming Marathon 2021. The competition is organized by the Syrian Virtual University (SVU) and the Distinction and Creativity Agency within the framework of their project on digital development for children and adolescents.

The test was conducted over four hours in the SVU’s centers in several Syrian governorates, said Director of the “Lifelong Learning Center”  at the SVU Saya Gojal in a statement to SANA.

The test paves the way for the final competition that is due to be held on October 1st for children of 8-11 years of age and next Saturday for adolescents of 12-15 years of age, she clarified.

She pointed out that the test aims at assessing the skills acquired by the participants during the training stage in preparation for the last stage. She stressed the need to upgrade the general scientific level of kids and adolescents and enhance their logical analysis skills and creative thinking by teaching them programming languages.
