Occupied Al-Quds(ST) – The Palestinian Prisoners Club revealed that 4,682 prisoners are being held in Israeli occupation prisons. They are subjected to the worst forms of psychological and physical torture, foremost of which is deliberate medical negligence, in flagrant and continuous violation of international laws and covenant
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club said in a statement on Tuesday that 4,650 prisoners are languishing in 23 detainees, and 32 women detainees are in Damon detention center, in addition to 180 children in Ofer, Megiddo and Damoun detention camps according to Ma’an News Agency.
“The number of sick prisoners amounted to 600, suffering from diseases of various degrees and in need of follow-up and urgent health care, 23 of prisoners with cancer”, the statement added.
The statement also said that the number of the old prisoners reached 25, the oldest of whom are Karim Younis and Maher Younis, who have been detained continuously since 1983.
“231 prisoners were martyred in the occupation’s prisons since 1967, in addition to hundreds who were martyred after their liberation due to diseases they suffered during their detention”, the statement clarified. It pointed out that the occupation is still holding the bodies of 9 martyrs’ prisoners.
