The Unit of the Syrian Academic Women Empowerment at Damascus University, in cooperation with the Businesswomen Committee of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, honored 43 young female researchers from various faculties of the university. The honoring event was held today at the university’s auditorium.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Bassam Ibrahim stressed in a speech the importance of honoring female researchers for their distinguished research works in all sectors, thanking Damascus University for honoring the female researchers who presented distinguished scientific research that contributed to raising the ranking of Damascus University at the global level.
Director of Scientific Research at Damascus University Ghaith Warqouzq explained that 133 female candidates applied for the competition from all faculties of Damascus University, 43 of whom won according to certain criterion.
Winner of the first place Abeer Al-Aswad spoke about the role of Syrian women and their contribution to creating a new reality based on innovation, science and giving, noting that Syria has prominent and important models of women who have achieved high levels of science and competence, as experiences have proven the success of Syrian women in all fields.
