The Brazilian Embassy in Damascus held the third session of the Brazilian Film Festival at Cinema City in Damascus.
Four Brazilian films were selected to be presented for the festival this year they are: Eduardo and Monica, Three summers, Pacarrete and Pixinguinha
Since Brazil is known for its Brazilian music, two of these films are about music.
The films depict the Brazilian social life in both the countryside and in the city.
HE Mr. Andre’ Santos, the Brazilian ambassador in Damascus told Syriatimes: I think that it is most important to create an opportunity for the Syrian people and for Brazilian people to exchange the experiences of one country with the other.
“I think that the embassies both, the Brazilian embassy here in Damascus and the Syrian embassy in Brazil, need to promote these type of events so that Brazilian people can find out more about the Syrian people and vice versa.” He added.
“So in this film festival the Brazilian musicians come here, Syrian musicians go to Brazil, Syrian films will be presented in Brazil all these activities will provoke curiosity and through this curiosity we will be able to get to know each other better and improve our relations and our friendship” HE Mr. Santos said.
“That makes our job much easier when the Syrian people know Brazil and may have right expectations and same thing applies to Brazilian people the more they know the Syrians the more they can have real expectations in terms of friendship cooperation etc..that is the idea of this event” HE Mr. Santos said .
“In September we will hold a graphic exhibition of a Brazilian woman artist who will display the exhibition in Damascus and in Aleppo” he concluded.
