300 volunteers carry out a cleaning campaign around the Citadel of Aleppo and plant trees in several sites in the city
With the participation of about 300 volunteers from the governorates of Damascus and Aleppo, a cleaning campaign was organized for the vicinity of the Citadel of Aleppo, in addition to an afforestation campaign in a number of sites in the city.
The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Salwa Abdullah, stressed in a statement to reporters the importance of volunteer work, congratulating the volunteers on their International Day. She underscored the volunteers ’activities for being one hand with the concerned authorities to reconstruct what the terrorist war on Syria has ruined.
Volunteer Abdel Nasser Muslim indicated that he and his fellow volunteers tried to plant green trees instead of those burned by terrorism during the long years of the war on Syria, so that Aleppo could return to a green and prosperous state as it was.
Volunteer Mughith Olabi from the Syrian Association for the Treatment and Care of Childhood Cancer stressed the importance of positive volunteer work that contributes to reconstruction in all sectors, especially the agricultural sector.
From Damascus governorate, volunteer Hazem Ibrahim from “Syria Brings Us Together” Association emphasized the importance of participating in the decoration of the city of Aleppo, which suffered greatly during the years of the war.
The volunteers expressed their happiness over participating in the campaign, noting that the Syrian youth have always been accustomed to the culture of volunteer work as it is a national duty for everyone.
The volunteers organized a march from Saadallah Al-Jabri Square towards the Citadel of Aleppo under the title “We raise our heads” in the presence of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Governor of Aleppo Hussein Diab, the Secretary of the Aleppo Branch of the Baath Party Ahmed Mansour, and head of the Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs Dr. Akram Al-Qash.
