Tashkent, (ST) – The World Men’s Boxing Championship kicks off on Monday in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, with the participation of five hundred and thirty-nine boxers from one hundred and seven countries, including Syria.
The draw, which was drawn this morning, pitted Syrian boxer Ahmed Ghosoun with the champion of Chinese Taipei weighing 75 kg, Alaa Ghosoun facing the Romanian champion in the 92 kg competition, and Mohamed Melis with the champion of the Democratic Republic of the Congo weighing over 92 kg.
The Head of the Boxing Federation, Kamel Shabib said in a statement to SANA that the matches of the Syrian team players are not easy because all the teams include boxers of a high technical level, and the competition will be strong. He indicated that Syrian boxers team have also prepared through internal and external camps, and they will do everything they have to achieve good results in the aforementioned tournament.
It is noteworthy that the delegation of Syrian team includes, in addition to the players, coaches Hussein Ghosoun and Mohamed Ghosoun.
