Bloody October

October 2023 has been a bloody month for the area of the Levant. On October 5th   drones carrying explosive materials targeted the graduation ceremony of young officers in the military academy in Homs killing 87 young men who had  had their whole life mapped out. The young cadets were not the only victim in this crime but their families too, who had come to attend their graduation ceremony.Whole families were wiped out and celebration turned to tragedy. The war of terror waged against Syria was still leaving its bloody fingerprints whenever the chance arose.Terrorists based in Idlib were behind this attack which resulted in national mourning for the whole country. This year saw many terrorist attacks on Syria -an overnight bus carrying soldiers was planted with a bomb which exploded killing the majority on board. Ambushes along major highways  occurred sometimes with deadly results.Terror has still not completely abandoned Syria though it is on a decline due to the bravery and dedication of the Syrian Arab Army.

And in a neighbouring country – in Palestine even more terror happened .On October 7th operation Al Aqsa Flood started. The people of Gaza had suffered unspeakably for decades.Living in an open air prison where even the basic necessities must be monitored by the Israeli occupation their lives were worth nothing and so they had nothing to lose.Their sanctuaries and shrines desecrated routinely by the Israeli occupation, their houses bulldozed and their children and teenagers repeatedly beaten and traumatized if not killed – operation Al Aqsa Flood was their response. The Palestinian Resistance was able with primitive weaponry to break out of their open air prison to go through that awful apartheid wall and to attack Israeli military positions.Maddened by the completely unexpected attack  which represented a breach to its supposedly infallible security system

Israel turned turned into Dracula and no amount of Palestinian blood could quench its thirst. It repeatedly ,by day and by night bombarded Gaza leaving no hospital school mosque or church intact. It cut off the internet so the outside world could not witness the truly horrifying events unfolding in Gaza.It also didn’t allow any human aid trucks to pass through the Rafah border for the first two and a half weeks. The numbers of dead Palestinians is still rising and Israel “the only democracy in the middle east”is still bombing while the USA and the Western world  look on never ever condemning Israel but rather looking for excuses for its barbarity.
