13 tons aid  from Venezuela arrive at Damascus International Airport for the  Lebanese

Damascus (ST)-A plane carrying 13 tons of aid from Venezuela arrived at Damascus airport yesterday as part of humanitarian effort to support and assist those arriving from Lebanon to Syria, as a result of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon.

In a press statement, the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Damascus, Jose Biomorgi clarified that the humanitarian aid shipment that arrived includes more than 13 tons of food, medical and relief supplies directed to the Lebanese people who were forced to leave their country and head to Syria due to the barbaric Israeli war on their country.

He noted that this initiative is a message of solidarity from Venezuela, its people and government, with the peoples of the region against the Israeli war of extermination.

Ambassador Biomorgi stressed that Venezuela stands, despite the harsh blockade and the difficulties it faces, alongside its friends in difficult times, and this is part of his country’s foreign policy and the policy of the Bolivarian Revolution.

In turn, the Assistant Minister of Local Administration and Environment for Environmental Affairs Moataz Douji pointed out that the shipment of aid coming from friends in Venezuela came to support Syria in helping the arrivals from brotherly Lebanon.

Douji thanked the Republic of Venezuela, government and people, for their constant support for Syria.

He stressed that Syria, despite the economic conditions it suffers from as a result of the unjust war waged against it during the past years and the unjust siege and sanctions imposed on it, always opens its arms to its brothers.
