Syrian-Iranian Cooperation and Consultations Bolstered
DAMASCUS, (ST)_ H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad highlighted the importance of the efforts exerted by Syria’s allied and friendly countries, particularly Iran and Russia, as to stop the interferences of some countries from the West in the political track, and as to establish firmly a political process led by the Syrians away from whatever foreign interference.
President Assad held talks today with the visiting senior Assistant of Iran’s Foreign Minister for political Affairs, Hussein Jabri Ansari, and the accompanying delegation, on the latest developments in Syria and the region.
President Assad highly appreciated the efforts exerted by Iran as regards the formation of the committee for discussing constitution, though of the big hurdles by the states supporting terrorism.

President Assad was briefed by Mr. Ansari about the ongoing preparations for holding the meeting for the guarantors States in Geneva within the coming two days, given the final agreement reached on the final form of the committee.
Ansari reiterated Iran’s keenness on consultations and coordination with Damascus, which has been very flexible as to reach agreement on the committee.
