International Peace and Security under Threats

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ With every victory achieved on the ground, the voices of some Western countries raise high and movements as to change the course of events take place; such voices and possible moves would, however, but contribute to the more of destabilizing the region; which is a threat to the international peace and security, reiterated H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad

President Assad received today Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati, top adviser to the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and an accompanying delegation.

Mr. Velayati asserted that the steadfastness of Syria in one of the fiercest terrorist war and the Syrians determination to achieve victory though of the foreign backing, financing and arming for this war is indeed the ideal example for every people that might be exposed for such kind of wars, reiterating Iran permanent stand by Syria.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the quick developments in the ongoing war on terrorism and the political impacts resulting where Mr. Velayati congratulated the Syrian People and H.E. President Assad on the crushing of terrorism in East Ghota liberating its population from terrorists’ crimes.

Assertion was laid on the fact that the threats by some Western countries to launch aggression against Syria based on false flags and lies by them and by their tools of terrorist organization on the ground came following the liberation of Eastern Ghouta; which failed their bets in their terrorist war against Syria.

On November 7, 2017, H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad underscored that the war launched by the Syrian Arab Army and allied forces is not only against terrorism but against all bids to exploit terrorism as to weaken and dismember states.

Receiving Mr. Velayati, the Top Advisor of the Supreme leader of the Iranian Revolution for International Affairs, President Assad asserted that the victories against terrorist organizations in Syria are a decisive strike which foiled dismemberment schemes and the sinister objectives of terrorism and its sponsoring states.

President Assad and Mr. Velayati underscored that escalating anti-Iran aggressive stances by some countries and as to destabilize other countries in the region cannot be isolated from the stalemate faced by the terrorist organizations in Syria and in Iraq, asserting that such stances would never force Damascus or Tehran from pursuing their work as to bolster stability in the region and as to defend the interests of their people.

Mr. Velayati underlined that the steadfastness and sacrifices of the Syrians for 7 years against the terrorist war launched by many big states using huge capabilities as to destroy Syria and dismember it are clear for friends and for enemies.

Mr. Velayati added that the Syrians steadfastness and sacrifices contributed to the safeguarding of the Syrian State and the Syrian national unity, which would at the final phase accomplish all-out victory against terrorists and their backers.

The latest developments in the war against Syria were dealt with where assertion was laid that the war against terrorist organizations are continued till the restoration of security and stability to all the territories of Syria.

On November 29, 2015, H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad highlighted the steadfastness of the Syrian People during the last years as well as the important achievements by the Syrian Arab Army, backed by the friends, on top of them stand both Iran and Russia, in the fight against terrorism.

Such achievements against terrorism have provoked some anti-Syria countries, which claim to fight terrorism, as to increase escalation, financing and arming of terrorist gangs, added H.E. President Al-Assad asserted the determination of Syria and its friends to pursue the fight against terrorism in all of its forms; hence ‘we are confident that the elimination of terrorists would but create the first basic measure in establishing stability in the region as well as in the world and would also create the real introduction for the success of any political solution to be decided upon by the Syrians.

Dr. Velayati voiced the appreciation of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the unique steadfastness of the Syrian People and Leadership in the face of the fierce Takfiri terrorist gangs, backed and financed by regional and Western States with the aim of weakening the region countries enflaming futile wars on ethnical and racial backgrounds.

Dr. Velayati reiterated to H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad the determination of the Iranian Leadership and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution to pursue supporting the Syria Arab Republic, government and people, hence the war by Syrians against terrorism is crucial for the region as well as the world.

The visiting Iranian delegation briefed H.E. President Al-Assad on the efforts exerted by the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the choices of the Syrian People and of the sovereignty and integrity of Syria.
