UNIFIL warns of Israeli attacks near its positions in Lebanon

The United Nation Interim Force UNIFIL in Southern Lebanon warns of the Israeli attacks near its positions in Southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese National News quoted UNIFIL as saying in a statement:” Israeli forces have been repeatedly informed of this ongoing situation through the usual channels”. UNIFIL stressed that it is unacceptable to enganger the safety of the UN peacekeeping forces while they are carrying out the tasks assigned to them by the UN Security Council.

UNIFIL expressed its deep concern over extremely dangerous development of the recent Israeli attacks in the vicinity of the Mission Position 6-25 southeast of Maroun al-Ras inside Lebanese territory.

UNIFIL spokesman Andrea Tenenti announced yesterday that UNIFIL peacekeeping forces are present in all their locations in south Lebanon.
