Russian Foreign Ministry: Any attempt to influence Moscow’s relations with the Middle East is doomed to failure
Moscow (ST): The Special Representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Middle East Affairs Vladimir Safronkov affirmed that any attempts to distance Moscow from the Middle East and influence its relations with the countries of the region are doomed to failure.
Safronkov said in a statement to Sputnik today: “We are convinced that any attempts to get Russia out of the Middle East region, influence its relations with countries in this region and exclude it from the process of resolving the Palestinian issue or any other crisis in the region are nonsense and are doomed to failure.”
Safronkov pointed out that the United States isolates itself in the work of the Quartet, which includes the European Union, Russia, the United States and the United Nations, on settlement in the Middle East, and thus tries to privatize the solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict in full, considering that any attempts by it unilaterally to resolve such complicated issues as an impossible mission.
