President Bashar Al-Assad congratulates Christian denominations on Christmas

Damascus (ST): President Bashar Al-Assad congratulated today the Christian denominations on Christmas, the birth of Christ, the Messenger of love and peace.

On behalf of the President, Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam congratulated heads of the Christian denominations.

Minister Azzam paid a  visit to  Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and the Whole East John X Yazigi, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and the Whole East Mar Ignatius Aphram II, Patriarch of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church Joseph Absi, Syriac Catholic Church Archbishop Youhanna Jihad Battah, Archbishop Jospeh Arna’outi at the Armenian Catholic Bishopric, Priest Boutros Zaour the pastor of the National Evangelical Church, Archbishop Samir Nassar at the Maronite Archdiocese, Father Bahjat Qarqash at the Latin monastery in Damascus, and Father Malek Malous at the Chaldean Church in Damascus.

In turns, heads  of the Christian denominations expressed their thanks and gratitude to President Al-Assad for his generous gesture, appealing to God Almighty to protect Syria, its people and army and culminate the efforts of President Al-Assad in defeating terrorism and restoring security and stability to Syria.
