Damascus, (ST) – Marking the 3rd anniversary of the martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the Arab Writers Union, in cooperation with the Center for Languages and Translation of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, held a political symposium, entitled “Martyr Qassem Soleimani and the Palestinian Cause” in which a number of Syrian and Iranian researchers took part.
The symposium reviewed the honorable struggle positions adopted by the martyr Soleimani that led to his martyrdom.
Researcher Samir Abu Saleh, who moderated the symposium, talked about the moral virtues that the martyr Soleimani adhered to and their connection to his positions, introducing the participants and their writings on the culture of resistance.
In turn, Head of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, said that Soleimani was present in the various arenas of resistance against enemy and was greatly interested in the unity of the Palestinian ranks and in the struggle to liberate Palestine through cultural or military forms of struggle. He pointed to the importance of his participation in multiple battles against America and the Zionist entity, the matter that caused his martyrdom.
The Iranian-Palestinian Friendship Association, Dr. Muhammad Al-Buhaisi, he explained in his axis that the fighter martyr Qassem Soleimani is an exceptional figure in the history of the resistance. He is considered the martyr of Al-Quds because he was one of the most fighters for it and its defenders.
Researcher Rashid Mawed stated in his axis that the issue of Palestine and the struggle for it was the cultural axis that Soleimani considered one of his priorities, so we find that he participated in the liberation of Gaza and the resistance and confrontation of Zionism in more than one place.
On the other hand, the writer Salim Barakat pointed out the importance of the honorable positions adopted by the martyr Soleimani, especially with regard to Syria and the morals and love in its structure that show his supreme goal seeking to defeat terrorism and liberate all Syrian lands.
The researcher Tahsin Al-Halabi saw in his axis, which was titled “Soleimani in Confronting Israel,” that the martyr Soleimani was determined to confront the Zionist entity and was one of the most important ones who resisted and fought it.
The researcher in the cultural affairs of the resistance, Ahmed Tarfa from Iran, stated that the martyr Soleimani confronted all the extremist terrorist gangs, leading to confronting all the international terrorist organizations.” He was seeking in his positions for a correct global path and a humane direction devoid of injustice and killing”, he added.
