ITUC: Turkey among the worst 10 countries for workers

The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) has stressed that Turkey is among the ten worst countries of the world as regards to violating workers’ rights.

According to the Turkish Zeman Newspaper, the ITUC Global Rights Index 2020 said in its report that Turkey is among the 10 worst countries in the world for working people as workers suffer from repressive labor laws, censorship and mass layoffs.

“Turkey remained one of the most hostile countries in the world for trade unionists,” said the ITUC report.

Turkey is also among the most dangerous workplaces where civil rights are violated, the report added.
