Iraq to prevent any activities conducted by US-Led Coalition without permission of Iraqi PM

BAGHDAD, (ST)- The Iraqi government announced on Saturday that it has banned any activities by forces of the so-called “US-led International Coalition” without the permission of the Commander in Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.

Major General Abdul Karim Khalaf, official spokesman of the Iraqi Commander in Chief told SANA correspondent in Baghdad that the Iraqi government has decided to prevent any land or air activity by the US-led coalition without approval of the prime minister.

“The order was given to all the Iraqi forces and it will be enforced today,” Khalaf said.

The new procedure comes a day after the US committed the crime of assassinating Commander of al- Quds Force, Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Deputy Commander in Chief of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) in Baghdad.
