Iraq Severely Condemns the Brutal American Assassination of Suleimani and al-Muhandis

Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi strongly condemned the American criminal aggression which led to the assassination of Deputy Head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Commission Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and the Iranian General Qassem Soleimani , the head of al-Quds Force and Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander , stressing that the crime was an aggression against Iraq and a flagrant violation of its sovereignty.

Abdul-Mahdi said in a statement, which SANA received a copy of ,”We condemn in the strongest terms possible the criminal American administration’s assassination of the two martyrs Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qasim Soleimani and other personalities.”

Abdul-Mahdi added: “The assassination of an Iraqi military leader, who occupies an official position, is an aggression against the Iraqi state, government and the people”, stressing that any assassination operations against Iraqi leadership personalities or from a brotherly country is considered a flagrant violation of Iraqi sovereignty, a blatant attack on the dignity of the homeland and a dangerous escalation that ignites a devastating war in Iraq, the region and the world.
Abdel-Mahdi, according to the statement, called officially for holding an extraordinary session of the House of Representatives based on the provisions of Article 58 of the Constitution in order to organize the Iraqi official stand and take legislative decisions and appropriate necessary measures in a manner that preserves the dignity, security and sovereignty of Iraq.
