Al-Mikdad offers condolences to Abdollahian over victims of terror attack in Kerman, says the world should unite against terrorism

On behalf of the Syrian government, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad offered condolence to his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian and to families of the victims who were killed in the terrorist attacks carried out by criminal groups against the Iranian people in the city of Kerman on Wednesday.

In a telephone call with Abdollahian, Al-Mikdad called for holding the forces behind this crime responsible and for taking the necessary measures to uncover the perpetrators, reiterating that the world should unite against terrorism.

Al-Mikdad affirmed Syria’s full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, as people and leadership, and with all families of the victims who met to commemorate the anniversary of the martyrdom of General Qassem Soleimani, commander of Al-Quds Force in the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard and the Deputy Commander of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq Abu Al-Mahdi Al-Muhandis.

For his part, Abdullahian
highly appreciated the solidarity of the Syrian people with the Iranian people as the two countries have agreed on the need to combat terrorism by all means and resisting the Zionist enemy’s growing tendency to take revenge on the Palestinians for their resistance and steadfastness in the face of the continued aggression.

Moreover, Prime Minister Hussein Arnous extended his condolences to the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Muhammad Mokhber. He expressed his sympathy over the victims of the terrorist attacks.

In a cable of condolence, Arnous said: “I received with deep sorrow the news of the painful tragedy resulting from the twin terrorist act that resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a large number of people. I extend to you and the friendly Iranian people my deepest condolences, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on the souls of those who died in this disaster and to give their families patience, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.”

He expressed his confidence in the ability of the friendly Iranian people to overcome this painful ordeal, asking God Almighty to keep the Iranian people safe and secure.
