Tehran,(ST)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that his country has become accustomed to the idiotic allegations of US officials.
In response to the statements of the US special envoy to Iran, Brian Hook, on the nuclear agreement and UN resolution 2231, Zarif told reporters today, according to Fars news agency, “Hook said there is nothing left of the nuclear agreement and he is not concerned with it, so what is important is what exists between Iran and the rest of the members of the agreement.”
Zarif said that Tehran had taken its actions within the framework of the joint work plan, and the rest of the members could amend their behavior until Iran returned to full implementation of the agreement.
He pointed out that American officials will realize in the future that the measures they have taken are not in their interest, noting that his country has made remarkable achievements in the nuclear field and the agreement has not limited development.
In May of 2018, US President Donald Trump announced his country’s withdrawal from the nuclear agreement signed between Iran and the five plus one group and the re-establishment of sanctions against Tehran in defiance of the will of the international community and a violation of international resolutions in this regard, which prompted the latter to reduce its obligations towards the agreement.
