With Arab and international participation, the 21st International Scientific Conference for Dentists Launched

With Arab and international participation, the activities of the twenty-first International Scientific Conference of the Dentists Syndicate were launched today at the Ebla Hotel and Conference Palace in Damascus.
In a speech during the opening, the Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghabash, stated that the Ministry is keen on continuous communication with medical unions and cooperation to raise the practical and scientific level of doctors, as the association of science, practice and scientific research is the successful basis for advancing the profession and expanding its horizons, indicating that this scientific activity with its accompanying training courses is one of the means for enhancing professional knowledge, scientific research and its role in achieving scientific and skill additions for dentists.
Dr. Al-Ghabash stressed that despite the sanctions and difficulties, efforts are being made to develop new ideas and visions that enrich work, improve performance and raise the level of aspirations to proceed in the construction phase, raise the level of community health and improve public health indicators by providing and developing all national expertise and competencies in coordination with all partners, where the Ministry provides oral health services for free, despite their high costs, through 727 clinics in health centers in Syria, in addition to the specialized centers that provide specialized treatment services such as jaw surgery, orthodontics, periodontics and therapy. During the first half of this year, their services exceeded 240 thousand services, while the number of services in hospitals and independent bodies reached 34,000 services in the same period.
A member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, head of the Office of Popular Organizations and Professional Syndicates, Eng. Hoda Al-Homsi pointed out that the dental profession is in continuous development because it combines science, art and beauty, indicating the importance of the conference to learn about medical and treatment developments, whether at the level of the Arab world or the world.
Head t of the Dentists Syndicate, Dr. Zakaria Al-Basha, stated that the conference topics are diverse and center on cosmetic and preventive dentistry, dental implants, fixed prostheses, pathological anatomy, orthodontics, laser uses, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontal diseases, restorative and endodontic treatments, forensic dentistry and temporal disorders, noting that some of the lectures will be online as well. The activities of the conference are accompanied by a series of scientific workshops and training courses that highlight the latest materials and equipment in the field of dentistry.
The head of the Dental Syndicate in Jordan, Dr. Azim Qaddoumi, that Jordan’s participation is important for the exchange of scientific and practical activities, especially during the current time, as more than 150 doctors are expected to participate in the conference, 5 of whom will be lecturers, who will present scientific papers, stressing that Syria is a pioneer in the field of dental sciences and has provided many of energies in the scientific field.
The conference will last for 3 days, and on the sidelines of the conference an exhibition of medical and dental equipment will be held for a number of local companies specialized in dental medical equipment and treatment materials.
