WHO calls on Trump not to politicize Corona virus pandemic

2020-04-08 Geneva (ST):   Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on the US President Donald Trump not to use the spread of the Corana virus pandemic for political purposes after his threats to halt WHO funding despite the crisis of the fatal virus pandemic.

Reuters quoted Ghebreyesus as asking Trump in a press conference not to  use Corona virus pandemic for  political objectives and to join impartial international solidarity in confrontation of the Covid 19 virus

He underlined the necessity of not  politicizing the fatal virus pandemic, noting that resources would not be a problem for the Organization in case of unity and solidarity.

He also said that Trump’s accusations of WHO’s bias towards China are untrue.

Earlier, Trump had directed several accusations against WHO threatening to suspend US funding in an attempt to cover his failure in confronting Corona virus spread in the US.
