Voting in the Iranian presidential election will be extended until 10 p.m.

The Iranian Election Commission announced a second extension of the voting period for two more hours until ten o’clock in the evening local time due to the increased turnout at the polls.

Iranian Election Commission spokesman Mohsen Islami said in a statement today that the turnout at the polls in this round has increased compared to the first round, expressing his hope that this process will continue with good participation.

The committee had earlier announced the extension of the voting period by two hours until eight o’clock in the evening local time due to the increased turnout at the polls.

The second round of the 14th round of presidential elections across Iran and abroad, in which candidates Saeed Jalili and  Masoud Pezeshkian  are competing, was launched this morning, as the polls are witnessing a large turnout of voters amid expectations that the turnout will be relatively more than the first round.
