UN Committee: The Palestinians face grave challenges because of Israeli repressive measures

A UN committee in charge of supervising the Palestinian people’s practice of their inalienable rights said that the Palestinians were facing grave challenges as a result of the flagrant violations of the Israeli occupation, the most recent of which was a plan to annex parts of the West Bank  thus exploiting the world’s preoccupation in confronting the Corona virus pandemic.

In a statement, the committee said that the occupation authorities were pressing ahead with their blatant violations and tight siege against the Gaza Strip, noting that Israel announced a plan to annex parts of the West Bank in a grave violation of the International law and the UN resolutions Nos. 2016, 2334 which call for ending the Israeli occupation and giving the Palestinians their inalienable rights.

The committee demanded the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and take immediate measures to confront the Israeli settlement plan, prevent the annexation and recruit international solidarity with the Palestinian people.
