The mercenaries of the Turkish occupation continue to excavate antiquities to steal them in Efrin

Aleppo (ST): The mercenaries of the Turkish occupation continued their organized criminal practices against the Syrian heritage, as they began a new excavation process for antiquities under direct Turkish intelligence supervision in the occupied Efrin region, north of Aleppo, to transfer them to Turkish lands and sell them.

Civil sources said that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation of the so-called terrorist (National Army) began again to complete the excavation and dredging of the soil at the foot of the archaeological hill of Ma’arat and what was left of the archaeological level of Hasan hill in Efrin region in search of antiquities and finds, in addition to the expansion of excavation operations to reach the neighboring lands using modern equipment supplied to them by the Turkish occupation forces.

The sources pointed out that the Turkish occupation forces directed their terrorist mercenaries to search for antiquities in order to sell them to Turkish antiquities dealers for a small price, at a time when the Turkish occupation forces are seeking to seize the antiquities that preserve the history of the region and  prove its Syrian identity.

The terrorists, in cooperation with Turkish, American and French archaeologists and excavators, during the previous years of the aggressive war on Syria, excavated archaeological sites and stole many finds in them in order to sabotage and destroy the Syrian cultural heritage. This constitutes a war crime that should be  added to the crimes committed against the Syrian people, its history and civilization. .
