Moscow- Syria and Russia on Friday held talks at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss enhancing agricultural cooperation and achieving food security in the two countries.
The two sides exchanged lists of materials required for each party to advance the goals and objectives of the hoped-for cooperation.
Interviewed by SANA correspondent in Moscow, Head of Damascus Chamber of Agriculture Muhammad Janan stressed the need to strengthen cooperation and to know the materials that can be exported to the markets of each of the two countries, recalling the exchange that existed between Syria and Russia in the field of grains.
He pointed out that the talks included an overview of the list of materials needed to support the agricultural sector in Syria.
For his part, Head of the Agricultural Department of the Russian Chamber of Commerce, Head of the Russian Academy of Science, Chekmaryov Pyotr Aleksandrovich said that the meeting was useful, and the Russian side expressed its readiness to cooperate in all the issues presented during the talks including the agricultural products, machines, manufacturing mechanisms, training cadres and upgrading the level of food security.
He stressed that Syria and Russia enjoy deeply rooted relations that have very good prospects of development, pointing out that Russia will continue supporting Syria in the agricultural, economic, political and military fields.
