Damascus, (ST) – Director General of the Syrian Investment Agency (SIA) Hala Ghazal discussed here yesterday with the head of the defense of Syria body in Sweden George Maqdissi Elias and his accompanying delegation a number of ideas, proposals and projects that are currently needed by Syria and reconstruction phase.
Mrs.Ghazal stressed that the crisis in Syria led to a change in investment priorities, especially during the current phase to meet the needs of the citizens of food security, energy supplies, rebuilding and reconstruction, pointing to the urgent need for projects in these areas.
Mrs.Ghazal reviewed the provisions of the investment map that SIA is working on including investment projects in all sectors, stressing the Agency’s role in the coordination and cooperation between investors and businessmen and those projects within the scope of their work and providing the necessary facilities to investors, A member in the Swedish delegation, Ulf Sandemark, presented a document for the project to rebuild Syria, which includes a number of key themes on the priorities of reconstruction included rebuilding the infrastructure and industries with the capacity and opportunities of new technology.
A number of members of the delegation gave a presentation of their projects that can contribute to the reconstruction process that is concentrated on electric power, water purification, recycling of waste and debris for use in the production of new building materials and provide the needs of temporary accommodation, housing and machines of concrete manufacturing, expressing their desire to find local partners to set up these projects which reflect positively on Syria.
It is noteworthy that the defense of Syria body in Sweden was founded in 2012 and is working to enable all expatriates and Syrian businessmen to return to their homeland and contribute to the construction and reconstruction and assistance and aid in kind and material to those affected by the war in Syria and the establishment of projects in various fields.
