DAMASCUS- Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban discussed Saturday with China’s Special Envoy to Syria Xie Xiaoyan and the accompanying delegation enhancing the relations between the two countries and China’s pivotal role at regional and international level, according to SANA.
She stressed the importance of the envoy’s visit to the region in light of the Chinese role at the regional and international level, which we all want for the benefit of Syria and its allies.
For his part, the Chinese envoy said that terrorism is a global danger that the international community should cooperate to defeat it.
In a statement to reporters, Shaaban affirmed the importance of the Chinese diplomat’s visit especially because China seeks playing bigger regional and international role; “a key role that serves the interests of Syria, Russia, Iran and allies”.
“We encourage China to play its effective role, particularly in the light of the need for more support for and cooperation with the Syrian Arab army and its allies in a conflict that seems to be long,” Shaaban added.
She pointed out that today the image has become clearer to all. “The United States and its allies in the region are the parties who support Daesh terror organization, whereas, the resistance alliance, supported by Russia and China, is standing in the face of terrorism expansion,” Shaaban clarified.
She went on to say that the “Security Council resolutions provide for punishing the parties which fund and arm terrorists and facilitate their entry to other countries, but such resolutions have not been implemented.”
The political advisor stressed that “when the Syrian Arab army and its allies unified their efforts they managed to reach the Syrian-Iraqi borders which formed a strategic achievement that dealt a blow to the terrorists”.
