Prague, (ST) – German Member of Parliament Peter Bystron stressed that sanctions do more harm to European Union countries that had adopted them than to Russia. He added that these sanctions more harmful for West than for Russia.
Bystron called for the operation of the Northern Stream 2 line to avoid a major energy crisis in Europe.
In an interview with the Czech Parliamentary Papers website, Bystron considered that the current wave of hostility towards Russia represents a great cynicism on the part of the West.
Bystron pointed out that the United States violated international law when it launched wars on Iraq, Yugoslavia and Afghanistan, and no one called at the time to impose sanctions or boycott its products.
America and the European Union imposed unfair economic sanctions on Russia against the backdrop of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, and these measures led to a rise in oil, gas and food prices in the world.
