Moscow (ST): Head of the Department of Preventive Archeology at the Institute of the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences Natalia Sokolova announced that Russian archaeologists are conducting a three-dimensional survey of the Rusafa archaeological site in the province of Raqqa.
Sokolova told reporters today that our task is to determine the destruction of the site and whether there were bandit excavations, military trenches, or mined places in the site after Russian archaeologists managed to reach the archaeological site for the first time.
“We will publish the database on the network or donate it to Syria and UNESCO if it sponsors this site, and thus it will reach archaeologists and architects,” she added.
