Moscow (ST): The Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed that terrorists were intensifying their activities in the Middle East, especially in Syria and Iraq exploiting the spread of the Corona virus pandemic.
Sputnik News Agency quoted Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov as saying that the Syrian Arab army managed to foil an infiltration attempt by Daesh terrorists southwest of the country, noting that the Syrian Army is capable of foiling such attempts.
He added that what raises concern is the situation in several regions in Africa, pointing out that we can’t say that the terrorist threats in other areas have become weak.
Syromolotov went on to say that in light of the spread of corona virus pandemic, sleeping cells of terrorist organizations appeared, expressing hope that the international community did not lose its resolve and coherence in the joint battle against terrorism.
