Protests and closure of roads continue in some Lebanese regions

Protests and demonstrations continued on Tuesday night  in some Lebanese regions demanding an improvement in the living conditions and accountability for the corrupt.

In Akkar, northern Lebanon, a number of protesters closed the Minieh-Abda international highway with burning tires, stones, and iron obstacles.

The international road linking Sanayya with Tripoli was also closed.

In Saida in the south, a number of protesters gathered in the middle of a main square and closed the intersection by cars for some time. Others also closed the Riyad al-Solh Street at Baouabeh Fawqa district in Saida with containers of wastes after setting fire to it. The Internal Security Forces elements reopened the roads.

Since October 17, Lebanon has been witnessing sit-ins in demand for an improvement in the living conditions and accountability for the corrupt.
