Moscow (ST): Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov considered Sweden and Finland’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) a formal step, indicating at the same time that his country would look on the ground at the results and consequences of this measure.
In response to a question about whether relations with Finland and Sweden will be reconsidered after their decision to join NATO, Peskov said, as reported by RIA Novosti agency, “This is an official formal step, and we will see what happens in all this.”
He stressed that his country will take all matters into consideration and the matter will be analyzed by the Russian Defense Ministry with the aim of strengthening the western borders.
