Occupied Jerusalem (ST): Palestinian political circles have affirmed complete rejection of the Israeli colonialist plans to annex parts of the West Bank. They also stressed the adherence of the Palestinians to their inalienable rights to end the occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, demanding that international community take tangible measures to halt the crimes of the Israeli occupation.
The National Centre for Defending Land and Resisting Settlement affiliated to the PLO stressed that the occupation authorities accelerated the implementation of their settlement plans since the declaration of the ill-famed deal of the century, especially in Jerusalem, Jericho and Ramallah to change the demographic and geographic status of the Palestinian cities.
The Centre noted that Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu set July 1st as starting day of the implementation of the annexation plans which flagrantly violate the UN resolutions relevant to the Palestine question.
Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Ishtiyeh renewed rejection of the occupation authorities’ plans and their attempts to isolate occupied Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank, noting that the Israeli aggressive measures undermine any opportunity for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state until June 4th 1967 borderlines with Jerusalem as its capital.
He added that the international stand which rejects the Israeli annexation plans constitutes support for the Palestinians, but denunciation statements are insufficient and the international community has to shoulder responsibility and halt Israeli settlement plans.
Head of the Palestinian Committee for Resisting the Separation Wall Waleed Assaf said that the occupation authorities started from the beginning of the year to implement the annexation plans through seizing vast areas of the Palestinian lands to expand the Israeli settlements.
Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Wassel Abu Yousef affirmed that the Palestinian people are waging a battle of existence against the Israeli occupation, noting that the annexation plans will seize 33% of the West Bank area.
In turn, member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine Mahmoud Khalaf emphasized the necessity of halting all forms of normalization of relations with the Zionist entity and supporting the resistance of the Palestinian people.
