Oman: The American veto contradicts the international consensus to grant the Palestinian people their right to self-determination

Muscat, (ST) – The Sultanate of Oman yesterday condemned the United States of America’s vote against the draft resolution granting Palestine full membership in the United Nations.

In a statement, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered that this matter contradicts the international consensus to grant the Palestinian people their right to self-determination and hinders efforts seeking to establish justice in all parts of the world.

The Ministry clarified that the Sultanate of Oman calls on all members of the Security Council to give the Palestinian issue full and fair attention, including respect for international law and United Nations resolutions, to ensure the establishment and sustainability of security and stability rules in the region and in the entire world.
