Head of Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimem, Lattakia, Major General Vladimir Savchenko said on Wednesday that more than 3 thousand residential buildings have been demined from explosive devices, planted by terrorist organizations in Aleppo eastern neighborhoods, according to SANA.
Savchenko added in a closed-TV speech between Aleppo and Geneva that Russian experts of defusing the mines, in cooperation with engineering units from the Syrian army, have demined nearly 200 facilities and 3210 residential buildings and they have also combed nearly 709 km of the roads as well as defused 26395 explosive devices in Aleppo eastern neighborhoods.
He added that more than 200 soldiers and 47 pieces of Russia military equipment have participated in demining the city from the explosives.
Russian permanent representative to the UN and international organizations’ section in Geneva Alexey Borodavkin, for his part, said that Moscow calls on the international community and other organizations to offer help and support to the Syrian government to restore normal life to Aleppo.
