Minister of Internal Trade, ambassador of Sri Lanka discuss boosting cooperation in the trade and economic fields

Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Muhessen Abdul Karem Ali discussed with the Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Syrian Arab Republic Kapila Jayaweera and the Sri Lankan Honorary Consul in SyriaMuhammad Muslim Al-Droubi ways to develop cooperation relations in various commercial and economic fields between the two countries in a way that serves the interests of the peoples of Syria and Sri Lanka.

The minister pointed to the depth of the historical relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of continuing to develop  and strengthen them at various levels to ensure the overcoming of the current challenges in a world that needs effective partnerships and economic blocks that achieve true integration at all development paths.

For his part, Ambassador Jayaweera affirmed readiness to work to strengthen bilateral relations in all fields, noting the Syrian postitive positions towards the Sri Lankan people over many years and at all levels.
