Mansour calls on the international community to put an end to the occupation’s aggression against Gaza Strip

The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations Riyad Mansour called on the international community to immediately provide protection for the Palestinian people, stop the Israeli occupation’s aggression against Gaza Strip, bring humanitarian aid into the Strip and stop all attempts by the occupation to forcibly displaced Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and from any part of the occupied Palestinian territories.

Wafa Agency reported that Mansour explained in 3 identical letters to the Secretary General of the United Nations, the President of Security Council and the President of the UN General Assembly that “Israel”, the occupying power, continues to arbitrarily target the Palestinian people with killing and mass displacement, despite the continuous calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza Strip and for providing protection and assistance to the Palestinian people.

Mansour pointed out that despite the General Assembly’s adoption of a resolution calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip 14 days ago, and despite the Security Council’s adoption of Resolution 2720, which stipulates taking urgent steps to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid in an expanded, safe and unhindered manner to the Gaza Strip few days ago, the occupation continues to wage a genocidal war against the Palestinian people, ignoring the Security Council, the General Assembly and the entire international community, given its complete confidence in its continued impunity and its continued enjoyment of political and diplomatic protection and evasion of accountability and penalties for its crimes.

Mansour stated that the occupation uses starvation as a weapon of war in its aggression against Gaza Strip, and deprives the Palestinians of food, water, medical and health care, and access to water, sanitation and hygiene services, which has led to the rapid spread of epidemics and diseases.

Mansour stressed the need to make immediate and urgent efforts to implement all relevant resolutions of the United Nations, including imposing sanctions if Israel continues to violate the UN Charter and ignore the demands of the international community, because that is the only way to pressure this entity to stop war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide against the Palestinian people.
