Lebanese army removes tents from a square in Tripoli

The Lebanese Army has reopened Al-Nour square in Tripoli after cordoning off all its entrances and exits last night.

According to the Lebanese News Agency (NNA), the Lebanese army reopened the square after it removed all the cement barriers and tents from the region.

In another development, the Lebanese army units stormed al-Qubbeh area in Tripoli and arrested several persons, who had attacked army soldiers and security forces during clashes that erupted inside and in the vicinity of the prison.

At least 10 army soldiers and security personnel were injured and 8 prisoners suffocated and were wounded in clashes.

The wounded prisoners received treatment in the prison’s hospital.
