Le Monde: Corona virus ends US domination of the world

French Le Monde newspaper reported that the spread of the Corona virus pandemic emerging in the world will put an end to the world order that was established after the Second World War and to the American hegemony in the international arena.

In an article released by Sputnik agency, the newspaper pointed out that the world will witness many changes in the international order, considering that one of the most prominent indications of this is the dependence of the World Health Organization on China.

The newspaper indicated that the Corona virus crisis revealed that the United States of America is no longer the main force in the world, noting that while the US has witnessed a significant retreat during the recent years, the Corona pandemic weakened it and made it the most affected by the virus, forcing Washington to relinquish this role.

It is noteworthy that the death toll in the United States as a result of the novel Corona virus has risen to 66,224 deaths during the past twenty-four hours, according to the Johns Hopkins University, to become the most affected country by the epidemic, both in terms of the number of deaths or infections, as it alone includes one third of infections and a quarter of deaths caused by the virus in the world.

The  Corona pandemic not only affected the United States, but the infections have also exceeded those in Europe. The EU suffered a  severe blow because of its inability to support even the  most affected countries  by this global epidemic such as Italy, the newspaper added.

The newspaper stated that in order to increase the impact on the establishment of a new world order, the European Union must review the structure of its construction and its own apparatus.
