Media advisor to the Iranian negotiating delegation, Muhammad Marandi, reiterated his country’s position on reaching a just and lasting nuclear agreement that guarantees the preservation of the rights and interests of all parties.
Marandi said in a televised statement last night that Iran’s most important goals in the negotiations are to reach a fair and lasting agreement that guarantees the preservation of the rights and interests of all parties, stressing that America must take measures to prove its goodwill to the Iranian side, given its previous policies of breaking promises and non-compliance with the nuclear agreement.
He noted that despite the progress that the negotiations are witnessing, there are still some outstanding issues that must be resolved.
Several rounds of negotiations were held in Vienna between Iran and the 4+1 Group over the past months to discuss lifting the embargo imposed on Iran and returning to the nuclear agreement, but they were hampered by the American demands and conditions that Tehran rejected.
