Occupied Jerusalem (ST): Indonesia affirmed its categorical rejection of the Israeli plans to annex Palestinian lands in the West Bank .
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said in a letter to her Palestinian counterpart Riyad al-Maleki that her country in its capacity as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council would urge the UNSC member states and the international community to reject the Israeli occupation settlement plans and support the international stand that calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital according to the UN relevant resolutions.
In turn, al-Maleki welcomed the Indonesian stand and its reference that the occupation plans do not only threaten peace and stability in the region but also undermine all efforts being exerted to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and the restoration of all Palestinian inalienable rights, especially the right of self-determination and the return of Palestinian refugees to their indigenous homeland.
