New Delhi – India’s State Minister for External Affairs, Vijay Kumar Singh, affirmed his country’s keenness on maintaining the historical relations with Syria and its readiness to enhance cooperation with it to upgrade bilateral relations to the highest level in all fields.
During a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to India Riyadh Abbas, Singh stressed the need to exchange visits and intensify meetings in order to develop ways of future joint cooperation between the two countries, including the establishment of joint projects and investments in Syria in the reconstruction phase.
For his part, Abbas expressed appreciation of the Syrian government for the Indian stance and the positive role played by India with regard to the crisis in Syria, pointing out that the Syrian government has set a policy of heading towards friendly countries concerning the process of reconstruction, including India, SANA reported.
The two sides discussed ways of boosting cooperation between the two governments in various fields such as reactivating memorandums of cooperation signed between the two countries and exchanging visits of official delegations, in addition to inviting various Indian companies to participate in the Damascus International Fair due to be held next month.
