Ghassan Shmeit Finishes Shooting ‘Stories from Shelters’ Film

Recently, Director Ghassan Shmeit finished shooting his short documentary film ‘Stories from Shelters’, which was produced by the Syrian General Cinema Institution in 2017.

The 30-minute film talks about the suffering of Syrian people, who have been displaced and besieged during the ongoing terror war on the country, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The Agency quoted Shmeit as saying: “ The film sheds light on the suffering of the displaced persons in various area since the start of the siege till their arrival to shelters as well as the difficult humanitarian conditions caused by the terror war that has been imposed on Syria since 2011.”

The film’s director was born in Quneitra province in 1956 and he got Master’s degree in cinema production from Kiev in 1982. He participated in several Arab and world festivals and won several local and international awards.

It is worth nothing that many films have been produced about the ongoing crisis in Syria. One of these films is ‘ transient and dissipate’ [Faneyah Wa Tatabaddad] by the Syrian Director Najdat Anzour.
