Gaza Media Office calls on the international community to provide protection to the Palestinian journalists  

Gaza Media Office called on the international community to protect Palestinian journalists and put pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop the genocidal war against the Palestinian media men and the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The office said in a statement today on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day: At a time when the world celebrates the freedom of journalistic work and remembers the martyrs of the freedom of opinion and expression, this occasion passes in Palestine in a different way this year, as the occupation has killed 141 journalists and media professionals, injured more than 70, and detained dozens, twnety of whom were known. The Israeli practice comes within the framework of the ongoing genocidal war for the 209th day against the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip.

The office condemned in the strongest terms the crimes and massacres committed by the occupation against Palestinian journalists, especially in the Gaza Strip, holding the occupation fully responsible for these crimes against journalists and media professionals.

The office held the American administration also responsible in view of  being a partner in the genocide through providing military, financial and political support to the occupation.
