General Commission of Forensic Medicine in Syria has documented over 11.000 deaths and 43.000 cases of injury in Aleppo city caused by terror mortar attacks on the city, according to the Damascus-based ‘Al-Watan’ newspaper.
The paper quoted Director General of the commission Zahir Hajjo as saying that there are more than 2700 unidentified dead bodies in the city.
“There is a medical center inside a small room in ‘al-Jame’a’ hospital [University Hospital] in Aleppo city, and we were receiving hundreds of dead bodies daily,” Hajjo added, affirming that the daily mortality cases reached up to 150.
He stressed that the commission will input all available information , including old data, into the program of documenting deaths and injuries in all provinces.
Last December, General Command of Army and Armed Forces announced restoration of peace and security to Aleppo city after liberating it from terrorists, who occupied it for four years.
