Erwani: The Israeli entity’s claims regarding the Noor 3 satellite are incorrect

Erwani’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Erwani, refuted the Israeli entity’s allegations regarding the launch of the Iranian Noor 3 satellite into space, stressing that these allegations are baseless.

The representative of the Israeli entity claimed that the launch of the “Noor 3” satellite into space by the carrier of the “Qased” satellite was a violation of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2231, supporting the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action regarding the Iranian nuclear program.

IRNA News Agency quoted Erwani as saying yesterday in a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and China’s Permanent Representative to the UN Zhang Jun, who assumed the periodic presidency of the Security Council :                                                                                “It appears that accusing Iran of destabilizing activities in the region is more than just a desperate attempt by this entity to abdicate responsibility for the war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity it committed in occupied Palestine.”

Erwani added : “This claim is baseless because Iran has not carried out any activities that contradict the Security Council resolution.                                                                                         It has repeatedly declared that all activities related to its missile and space programs come within the framework of the country’s legitimate rights under international law.                       It has also always affirmed that its missile and space programs fall outside the scope and authority of Security Council Resolution 2231 and its annexes.”

The Iranian delegate explained that “the Israeli entity’s goal in launching this claim is to divert attention from the urgent issue that requires the attention of the international community now, which is the heinous crimes it is committing against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”
