Demonstrations, closed roads in Tripoli and several Lebanese regions

Beirut,(ST)  – The city of Tripoli and other Lebanese regions witnessed last night demonstrations, destroying the facades of a number of banks, and closing roads calling for improved living conditions and the accountability of the corrupt.

Unidentified persons threw a bomb in the Abu Ali River the sound was  heard the sound throughout the city, while the National Information Agency reported that protesters destroyed the facades of the Byblos Bank in the port. 

Sit-ins took place last night in Tripoli in protest against the living situation, as a number of protesters closed the main road to the central port despite the curfew. The army then opened the roads after midnight.


The traffic control room announced the opening of the Naameh Highway to Beirut and the Talbaya road in the Bekaa, which were closed at night.

Road closores, burning tires and protests continue last night in the cities of Sidon, Tire, Tripoli and the Bekaa, in light of the Lebanese dissatisfaction about the difficult economic conditions
