London (ST): The British Re-brief human rights organization disclosed that the number of executions committed by the Saudi regime against activists and opposition figures has doubled, noting that death sentences have been issued against 800 people including children since 2015.
In a report published by the British the Independent newspaper, the organization said that the number of death sentences has doubled since king Salman assumed power in 2015, pointing out that such policy contradicts the pledges made by crown prince Mohammad Bin Salman, to make reforms, especially with regard to the death sentence.
The report said that the Saudi regime executed 185 last year including 37 collectively.
Director of the Organization said that despite all the talk about reform and modernization, Saudi Arabia is still a state in which any word against the king would lead the speaker to inevitable death.
The Saudi record in human rights violations is still the worst in the world as arbitrary arrests and summary courts are still committed against human rights activists and opposition figures including women.
