Beijing: Washington must withdraw all its nuclear weapons from Europe

Beijing (ST): The Chinese Foreign Ministry affirmed Beijing’s commitment to the principle of no initiative to use nuclear weapons in response to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan despite Chinese warnings.

Fu Cong, head of the arms control department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, was quoted by RIA Novosti news agency as saying at the United Nations Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference: “China will not, under any circumstances, be the first to use nuclear weapons, and it is committed to maintaining its stockpile of such weapons at the minimum to ensure the protection of its national security
