DAMASCUS, (ST)-Damascus Governor Bisher al-Sabban has announced that the settlement agreement in Barzeh neighborhood was completed by evacuating the last batch of gunmen from the district in preparation for the return of the state institutions to area.
In a press statement, the governor said that “the fourth and last phase of the settlement agreement in Barzeh district was completely implemented today, noting to the departure of 1012 people including 455 gunmen, who refused to join the agreement , towards the northern countryside of the country.
The settlement agreement in Barzeh has been implemented over 20 days during which all the gunmen and some members of their families, who refused the settlement, left to the Syrian northern countryside.
Ten days earlier, the third phase of the agreement was implemented through the departure of 2672 people including 1076 gunmen from the district.
The Syrian government is keen on enhancing local reconciliations in all parts of the country in parallel with the Syrian army’s operations to uproot takfiri terrorism and restore security and stability to the entire Syrian territory.
